Rates for AHTS have hit £100,000 level says broker
News - August 14, 2006
Broker Offshore Shipbrokers Ltd (OSL) in the UK says the North Sea market "continues to be extremely tight" with AHTS being fixed last week more than a week in advance and rates believed to have finally hit £100,000 per day, which is a new record in the North Sea.
Looking forward, AHTS availability looks likely to continue to remain limited right through this week, which is why charterers are securing tonnage so far in advance.
OSL said the PSV market is also extremely tight. Recent cargo run rate levels were circa £40,000 and given limited availability rates are expected to remain buoyant.
