    Fugro to extend fleet capacity

    Vessel & ROV News // July 3, 2006

Fugro has placed an order for a new vessel, to be called Geo Caribbean, with the Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) shipyard in Norway.

The vessel will be owned by Fugro and will be delivered in October 2008.

The overall length of the vessel is 101m and it will be used for 3-D seismic survey work and will be equipped for towing a maximum number of 14 streamers for long offset acquisition (streamer length over 9km).

Geo Carribbean has the same design featurs as the vessels that Fugro is to charter from E Forland Shipowners - Geo Celtic (a seismic survey vessel due to be available in May 2007) and Fugro Saltire (a ROV subsea support, due to be available in February 2008).

Fugro said the ship's design will allow for future multi-purpose utilisation.
