Aker Yards to build construction vessel for FarstadVessel & ROV News // June 28, 2006
Farstad has ordered this UT761CD from Aker Langsten.
Aker Yards has entered into a contract with Farstad Shipping in Norway for construction of a construction vessel with a value of approximately NKr 850 million.
Aker Yards, Langsten is to build the 121.5m x 26cm construction vessel, which will be based on the Rolls-Royce UT761CD design.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery from Langsten in the fourth quarter of 2008 and will enter a long term charter with Saipem UK Ltd.
The vessel is specially designed for plough duties in connection with pipelaying projects, and will have a bollard pull of more than 350 tons.
The vessel will also have DP 3 class and be equipped with a large construction crane and an 'A' frame.
