Vroon Offshore Services orders DPII DSV at ABG ShipyardVessel & ROV News // June 27, 2006
Vroon Offshore Services has ordered a DPII Diving Support Vessel (DSV) from ABG shipyard in India for delivery in second quarter of 2008.
The new vessel will be fully outfitted for diving, ROV and deepwater construction operation, and will be equipped with a dynamic positioning system, four-point mooring anchoring system, external fire fighting system, helideck, moonpool, 50 ton crane and accommodation for 68.
The new Vroon DSV will be 78m overall and have a beam of 18m, depth of 7.8m, draft of approximately 5.5m, and deadweight of 2,100 tonnes.
The DSV will have a speed of approximately 13 knots with 2 x 2,000kW azimuthing thrusters aft, and 1 x 1,000kW retractable azimuthing thruster and 1 x 1,000kW tunnel thruster forward.
Vroon Offshore Services also has a four-point mooring DSV on order at the same yard for delivery in the late summer of 2006.
In addition, Vroon Offshore Services operates another three DSVs in the North Sea market.
