Tempest for TalismanVessel & ROV News // June 15, 2006
Seascope Offshore says Talisman Energy is due to take delivery of the newbuilding medium sized PSV SBS Tempest (aVS470 MkII) around mid-June after the vessel delivers from the Karmsund
shipyard in Norway.
The vessel has been chartered for a minimum of five years and ensures Talisman will retain a PSV ‘pool’ of five units for most of this year at least as the large PSV SBS Cirrus (UT705) has recently been extended to the end of November – the vessel
originally commenced working for Talisman at the end of May 2003.
Other vessels in their long term ‘pool’ include Acadian Sea (UT705)/Olympic Promoter (UT755L) and Grampian Explorer (UT755L) which has been working for Talisman since April 2003.
Seascope said the latter vessel is now effectively acting as a forerunner to North Star’s newbuild medium sized PSV (IMT978) which has been contracted for a minimum of five years and is due for delivery around September 2007 from the Balenciaga shipyard in Spain.
