Lockport Fabrication delivers PSVYard News // June 8, 2006
Bertha D was delivered earlier in June.
Lockport Fabrication, like other yards in southern Louisiana, suffered set backs with their suppliers as a result of last year’s hurricane season. The storms also destroyed worker's houses and created labour shortages just as the oil industry was placing a growing number of orders.
Despite all this, the yard recently delivered its latest offshore support vessel. Launched in December of 2005 the final paint touches, including load lines, were applied at the beginning of June this year.
Meantime on shore the hull of a sister-ship for the same owners is taking shape.
The vessel is the 166ft by 36ft Bertha D.
