    More details on Thoma-Sea newbuild

    Joel Broussard of Gulf Offshore Logistics will operate the Thoma-Sea vessel.

    US sources have provided more details about the newbuild PSV that is being built at Thoma-Sea Shipyard in Houma Louisiana.

    The vessel is 220ft long, with a 48ft beam and 16ft moulded depth. Her main engines will be a pair of IMO compliant Cummins QSK60 engines each delivering 2,000hp at 1,800rpm.The main engines will turn a pair of Rolls Royce azimuthing drives.

    Built to a Frank Basil design, the vessel will have two KTA19DM-1 powered 425kW ship service generator sets. A 640hp Cummins KTA19M-3 coupled to a Twin Disc MG5195 gear will power the bow thruster.

    While the builders will retain ownership, it is reported that Joel Broussard of Gulf Offshore Logistics will operate the vessel.
