    Siem Offshore orders multifunction ROV support vessel at Kleven

    Siem Offshore has ordered a second MT6016L from Kleven.

    Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway has signed a contract with Siem Offshore for the construction of a multifunction ROV support vessel (MRSV) of MT6016L design, developed in close cooperation between owner and yard, designed by the Norwegian designer Marin Teknikk.

    The vessel is 103.7m long, with a beam of 19.70m, and will have a deck area of in excess of 1,100m2.

    The vessel is intended to operate in the subsea market worldwide, with a focus on light construction work, maintenance and ROV services, and has accommodation for 100.

    The ship will be equipped with a high capacity crane and launch and recovery systems for ROVs.

    The vessel will be delivered from the yard in March 2008, as newbuilding number 319, and is the second vessel for Siem at Kleven. Newbuilding number 315, which is an
    identical vessel, will be delilvered in June 2007.
