    Conrad Industries announces new contracts and deliveries

    Conrad Industries in the US has announced the signing of contracts for the construction of 10 vessels totaling US$32.3 million and delivery of three vessels in recent months.

    Offshore Marine Contractors has signed contracts for three 175ft class 110ft x 64.5ft x9ft liftboats, similar to liftboats previously built by Conrad.   

    W C Fore Trucking, McCleary Offshore Construction and Inland Barge Rentals have signed contracts for the construction of deck barges that range in size from 120ft x 30ft x 7ft to 210ft x 72ft x 14ft.

    Settoon Towing signed a contract for two 6,500 bbl inland double skin barges that will be certified for crude oil service.

    In addition, Foss Maritime Company signed has signed a contract for two 26,000 bbl double skin barges that will be equipped as bunkering barges for their west coast operations.

    Johnny Conrad, President and CEO stated, "We are very pleased that these companies have chosen Conrad to be a part of their fleet enhancement or replacement programmes." 

    "Liftboats and deck barges are among Conrad's long-time core products. With these additions, our current backlog is approximately US$58 million compared to US$34 million at December 31 2005," said Conrad.

    Conrad also announced the recent delivery of a steel crane barge for the US Army Corps of Engineers and a 3,200hp push boat for Corps of Engineers' Pittsburgh District.
