Another Schilling Robotics UHD for Gulf of Mexico

    Vessel & ROV News // March 9, 2006

The 200shp UHD 06 will generate 1.4 tonnes of thrust.

Schilling Robotics has announced that it will deliver a second ultraheavy-duty (UHD) ROV to Phoenix International.

The ROV, a UHD 06, will feature the same 200shp power (generating 1.4 tonnes of thrust) and 3,500m depth rating as the UHD sold to Phoenix in late 2005.

The ROV will include Schilling’s XE extended TMS system with 600m of tether.

The UHD 06 ROV, which will be delivered to the Phoenix Subsea Projects Group in Houston, Texas in July 2006, will join the Phoenix UHD 05 for operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The two ROVs will be fully supported by Schilling Robotics’ regional office in Houston.

The UHD 06 sale was announced at the Subsea Tieback Conference and Exhibition held this week in Galveston, Texas.
