Deep Marine Technology acquires two Perry Triton XLS ROVsVessel & ROV News // February 9, 2006
Deep Marine Technology in the Us has announced the recent acquisition of two new 150hp, 3,000m depth-rated Triton XLS ROVs from Perry Slingsby Systems.
Scheduled for delivery in September 2006, the Triton XLS 21 and 22 will be furnished in a heavy-work configuration with 600m of useable tether and enhanced capabilities including:
• Larger 15in thrusters
• Station-keeping capabilities
• Survey suite
• Ethernet capability
The ROVs will be installed onboard DMT’s new 300ft MSV DMT Emerald, which is expected to be in service November 2006.
The Triton ROVs will be used in support of the vessels’ 100 tonne Heave Compensated Tower and 100 tonne knuckleboom crane for manifold installations, subsea tree installations, jumper installations, subsea construction, and subsea intervention.
