    Vessel & ROV News // January 31, 2006

Olympic Shipping's new subsea vessel will be delivered in October 2007.

Olympic Shipping in Fosnavåg, Norway has placed an order with Ulstein Verft for the construction of a large, multifunction subsea vessel based on the ULSTEIN P101 design from Ulstein Design AS. The vessel is to be delivered end of October next year.

The new vessel will also be capable of working as a straight supply vessel and will be 95m long with a breadth of 20.5m and can accommodate 87.

The P101 is designed to have good seakeeping qualities and provide a good platform for a range of operations. The vessel will be prepared for an active heave compensated crane, ROV and a helicopter deck.

With ice class 'ICE-C' the vessel will also be able to operate in northern waters such as the Barents Sea.
