Kleven gets DOF newbuild contractYard News // January 31, 2006
Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik will build DOF's sophisticated MPSV.
Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway has entered into a contract with District Offshore (DOF) of Austevoll, Norway for the delivery of the VS495 DEM MPSV that DOF recently announced it intended to order.
The VS495 DEM design is the result of close co-operation between owner and yard, and naval architects Vik Sandvik of Fitjar, Norway.
The vessel is 96.9m long with a beam of 21.00m, with extensive cargo capacity
below deck, and a cargo deck of 1,030 m2.
The vessel will be delivered in the third quarter of 2007.
DOF has previously built five vessels at Kleven Maritime, and is currently building a number of vessels at yards in Norway and abroad.
Kleven Verft now has nine vessels under construction, and Kleven Maritime as a group has an order book consisting of of 17 vessels.
