Volstad Maritime orders ST256 from FosenVessel & ROV News // January 16, 2006
Volstad Maritime in Norway has confirmed that it has ordered a Skipsteknisk-designed ST256 ROV/survey/supply vessel from Fosen shipyard.
The new design will be 94.60m overall and is designed for operation in severe weather conditions and has a high level of manoeuvrability and station-keeping.
The vessel will be prepared for ROV operations such as pipeline/route survey; subsea installation work; geotechnical survey; module handling; and is prepared for work as a dive support vessel with twin moonpools and twin diving bells. The ship will also have an auxiliary crane capable of 10 tonnes at 18m.
