    Hugin AUV completes record-breaking mission

    Geoconsult in Norway says its Hugin AUV completed a record-breaking mission at the end of December, a mission that lasted for more than 66 hours, with Hugin covering a distance of 430km.

    The missions was performed in water depths ranging from 400-1,050m, and the mission plan included nearly 500 waypoints, approximately 50 of which were changed via acoustic link during the execution of the mission.

    The AUV's payload included a Simrad EM2000 150 multi-beam echo-sounder, Edgetech FS AU SSS/SBP, digiquartz 2000m depth sensor and FSI 2MCTD sensor.
