Vroon orders two PSVs from Damen ShipyardsVessel & ROV News // December 1, 2005
Vroon has signed newbuilding contracts with Damen Shipyards in the Netherlands for the construction of two large PSVs.
The vessels will be built by Damen's yard in Galatz, Romania.
The vessels are expected to be delivered in the last quarter of 2007 and first quarter 2008. Vroon holds two options for sister vessels.
The first vessel has been chartered to Peterson Supplylink in Den Helder, The Netherlands. Both vessels will marketed and managed by Vroon Offshore Services in Den Helder.
Vroon has another four offshore vessels on order and expects to grow its market position in the years to come.
The Damen 7216 PSvs will be 71.85m overall, with a length between perpendiculars of 64.88m, beam of 16.00m, draft of 6.00m, and depth of 7.50m.
They wil have a deadweight of approximately 3,200 tonnes, deck area of approximately 620m2, and propulsion base don 2 x 1,500kW azimuthing thrusters providing a speed of in excess of 13 knots.
