Bibby Sapphire to get 15-man diving system

    Vessel & ROV News // November 23, 2005

Bibby Offshore in the UK has confirmed that it plans to install a twin bell 15-man diving system with a depth capability of 300m onboard Bibby Sapphire this winter.

The equipment will be available to the market from the first quarter 2006, and the system can be increased to support 18 divers by increasing the hyperbaric lifeboat capacity.

Bibby Sapphire entered service with Bibby Offshore in August on a long-term charter from Volstad Offshore.

The Skipsteknisk-designed ST253L vessel first entered the subsea construction market, initially as a construction support vessel, but it has always been Bibby's intention to convert the ship into full saturation diving support mode.

Built in Norway at Aker Langsten shipyard, the vessel is managed by Meridian Marine Management, Bibby’s ship management subsidiary, having been chartered from owner Volstad.
