HD3D comes to AustraliaProjects and Operations // November 16, 2005
PGS Asia-Pacific has recently embarked on a long offset HD3D survey for ENI Australia.
Ramform Victory is deploying a 12 x 6,000m x 50m dual-source streamer array.
The survey has already established several records: the longest streamer offsets, the most streamers deployed, and the largest trace density for a HD3D survey acquired in Australia.
After the completion of the survey Ramform Victory will acquire a campaign of several other high technology surveys, including a HD3D-4D baseline survey. This will be the first customized 4D survey ever acquired in Australia.
The PGS HD3D-4D acquisition strategy delivers excellent repeatability. Dense streamer configurations are towed on regular pre-plot shot lines, complemented by streamer overlap to maximize source-receiver azimuth repeatability.
HD3D-4D will also provide the critical spatial sampling benefits required for successful data processing and imaging in the North West Shelf of Australia.
