Solstad confirms fire aboard Normand NeptunNews // November 4, 2005
Solstad Shipping in Norway has confirmed that an incident occurred onboard Normand Neptun at 1020 hours GMT on November 3rd.
One of the vessel's four engines caught fire.
Solstad said the situation is under control, and said the incident took place 128 nautical miles north-west of Vigo, Spain in the Atlantic.
No crew members were injured as a consequence of the incident. Emergency procedures were initiated, and crew onboard handled the situation in what Solstad called "a trained and professional manner."
