Keppel Verolme gets Solitaire jobYard News // November 26, 2004
"The Solitaire has been at the centre of a long-running legal battle between Singapore's SembCorp conglomerate and AllSeas going back to 1993," said Fairplay. "AllSeas had awarded the then Sembawang Corp the conversion of the bulk carrier into a pipe laying vessel, but terminated the agreement citing unacceptable delays. It then awarded the job to UK based Swan Hunter. The dispute was referred to a London arbitration court in 1997. AllSeas has claimed US$460 million plus legal costs."
Solitaire is expected to arrive at Keppel Verolme yard in January 2005 for a two-month conversion job that involves among others regular repair and maintenance and structural mechanical adjustments.
