Gulf Maritime show on track to be biggest to date

    News // November 26, 2004
The third Gulf Maritime exhibition - which will be held at the Expo Centre Sharjah from April 18-20, 2005 - will be the biggest yet, claims co-organiser Kishore Navani.

"The 2004 event was very satisfactory for all concerned," Mr Navani explained. "We attracted more than 160 exhibitors from over 30 countries. Importantly, we drew more than 2,700 visitors from over 40 countries."

"Even more importantly," he said, "more than 800 of those visitors were owners and operators of a very wide range of ships and boats from small patrol and fishing boats to the largest oil and gas tankers. A large number of ship builders and repairers andnaval architects and marine engineers also attended."

In addition to the very successful series of Product Presentation Seminars held last time, the 2005 event will incorporate three highly focused forums: vessels for coastal construction; offshore service vessels for the Middle East; patrol, assault and rescue craft for Middle East operators.

All three are obviously very relevant to current marine activity in the region.

The forums will be brief, half-day, affairs and there will be no charge for attendance at them. A top quality panel of speakers and commentators are being invited to participate.
