    Ezra orders two anchor handlers

    Vessel & ROV News // August 26, 2005

Ezra Holdings Ltd in Singapore has placed orders via its wholly-owned subsidiary Lewek Shipping Pte Ltd for a pair of 8,000bhp multi-purpose anchor handling tugs.

The order for the anchor handlers was placed with Hong Kong-based Cheoy Lee Shipyards Ltd.

The AHTs will cost US$12 million, excluding the cost of certain owner-furnished
    equipment.

“We continue to see good demand for such specialized vessels, and consider it timely to place orders now. This is in line with our fleet expansion programme to ensure we have the right mix of vessels in our fleet at the right time to meet our customers’ needs,” said Mr Lionel Lee, Ezra’s Managing Director.

Besides the AHT order, Ezra has also been studying various newbuilding options which
would sharpen its edge in the provision of deep water offshore support services.

One of the options under review is the building of four large AHTS ranging in size from 10,000bhp to 15,000bhp.
