    Cableship order for Ulstein

    Yard News // March 22, 2000
Ulstein Vaerft in Norway has been awarded a contract for a new cable-layer for Solstad Rederi.

Currently, the Norwegian yard has just one other ship on order, in the form of an anchor-handling tug for Farstad Shipping, which is due to be completed by the end of this year.

The yard says the newbuilding will be the largest cable ship it has built. It is to be based on a design developed by Vik-Sandvik and will bury cables and operate an ROV.
