Aker Maritime is to buy out its partner in the Aker Gulf Marine yard in Texas.

The company says it believes that Aker Gulf Marine will play a key role in Aker Maritime's efforts to win work in the fast-growing deep-water market.

Aker Gulf Marine operates two offshore fabrication yards, one at Ingleside and one at Aransas Pass, and has facilities well suited to service the growing market for the deep-water sectors of the US Gulf of Mexico.
