    Bollinger gets started on Seahorse supply boat

    Bollinger Shipyards of Lockport, Louisiana, has begun construction of a 145.5ft supply/utility boat for Seahorse Marine.

    The newbuilding is the sixth vessel to be built by Bollinger for Seahorse and delivery is scheduled for January 2001.

    Overall, the new boat will be 145.5ft in length, with a 36ft beam and 11.5ft maximum draft. It will be powered by two Cummins KTA-38MO diesel engines developing 750hp each at 1,600rpm. They will drive Bollinger 72" x 57" stainless steel, four-bladed propellers through Reintjes WAF-561 reverse/ reduction gears.

    Steering will be provided by a Bollinger electro-hydraulic steering system and manoeuvrability will be aided by a Schottel STT-110 bow thruster driven by a Cummins NT-855 diesel engine.
