    Alliance solution for floaters

    News // August 25, 2000
Cammell Laird Holdings PLC and Aker McNulty, a subsidiary of Aker Maritime, have announced the signing of a teaming agreement for offshore floating production conversion work.

Aiming at the now resurgent Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO), Floating Storage Unit (FSU) and Floating Production Unit (FPU) conversion market, the two companies aim to work together on a joint marketing strategy.

With their combined skills, experience and facilities, the Alliance is able to offer a turnkey capability to owners and operators covering all aspects of potential projects.

This approach has already worked well with the joint co-operation on the north east coast of the UK between Aker McNulty and Cammell Laird (Tyneside). The two companies have worked together on Enterprise Pierce's Berge Hugin FPSO, and Kerr-McGee's JaniceFPU.

Cammell Laird, now one of the world's leading ship repair and conversion groups, has facilities in the UK, in Marseilles, France, Gibraltar and Portland, Oregon. It has undertaken work on numerous FPSO and FSU projects. Aker McNulty is one of the world's leading providers of floating and fixed production platforms, and has had involvement with around a fifth of all floating production systems worldwide.
