New sonar processing toolkits from Octopus

Octopus Marine Systems Limited (Oxford, UK) has launched its 361 and 461 Software Toolkits.The toolkits are delivered as a single installation disk, accept all standard digital data formats and can be purchased by credit card.The 461Toolkit is a powerful side-scan sonar processing suite with mosaics, editing and enhancement. 461 can also be purchased as a simple viewer for instant data review on any laptop. The 361 sub-bottom toolkit is a dedicated seismic suite for digitisation and export of seismic reflectors to CAD/GIS packages.
Fifteen Beta versions have been assessed by leading survey and geophysical customers over recent months and feedback has been incorporated into the toolkits. Advance orders have already been received from the UK, New Zealand and the USA.
An Octopus spokesman has stated that "these new toolkits make advanced processing tools available to anyone's laptop at sea or in the office without having to invest in expensive workstations or special hardware."
