Yard News - August 11, 2000

| More
Keppel Shipyard in Singapore has been awarded a contract to carry out extensive modifications to the 280,428dwt tanker Magnolia, on behalf of International Marine Transportation (IMT), and another contract from the same source that will see it carry outroutine repair work on two other tankers.

IMT, which manages tankers on behalf of Mobil Shipping and Exxon, has contracted with Keppel to convert the Magnolia into a Floating Storage Unit (FSO) to work with the Zafiro Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessel in offshore EquatorialGuinea in West Africa.

Shortly after the contract for the FSO was awarded to the Singaporean group, IMT also contracted with the yard to carry out repair work on two more tankers, the 149,325dwt Flinders, and the 33,187dwt Sacona.
