    The Fire contained on jack-up

    Diamond Offshore Drilling reports that its jack-up drilling unit Ocean Crusader experienced a fire from a well adjacent to the rig on 05 July while conducting routine operations offshore Louisiana in West Delta Block 58.

    Emergency procedures were initiated and the fire was extinguished. All personnel onboard the rig were evacuated. There were no injuries during the fire or the evacuation.

    Emergency personnel have commenced damage assessment. However, evaluation of any damage or related repairs may take several days to complete.

    The Ocean Crusader is currently under contract with Basin Exploration Inc in the Gulf of Mexico.
