    CSO sets another record

    News // June 30, 2000
Coflexip Stena Offshore (CSO) has claimed another world record.

The company has announced that its pipelayer, Sunrise 2000, has set a new record depth for laying flexible pipe, surpassing the April 2000 record the company set offshore Brazil with the successful installation of a second 6 inch insulated flowline in 1,883m (6,178ft) of water on Brazil's Roncador field.

The flowline, some 9.5km long, has just been installed between the RO-8 wellhead at 1,883m and the P36 platform in 1,360m.

In fact, this is the third world record set by the Sunrise 2000 - the first of the trio of records saw her install a riser in 1,709m of water in the Marlim Sul field in 1997.
