    Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) is organising three postgraduate courses on hydrodynamics later this year. MARIN says last years' courses were a big success and were all fully booked.HYDRODYNAMICS IN SHIP DESIGN 16-20 October 2000 (5 days)This course is intended for technical staff actively involved in ship design. Participants should in principle hold a university degree in naval architecture, or have equivalent qualifications or experience. Emphasis will be on viscous aspects and computed fluid dynamics.Course Fee NLG 5,350.HYDRODYNAMICS OF FLOATING OFFSHORE STRUCTURES 30 October - 03 November 2000 (5 days)This course is intended for existing professional staff and for newcomers in the offshore industry. Participants should have a university degree in naval architecture or ocean engineering or equivalent education or experience. Emphasis will be on viscouseffects, impact loading and dynamic positioning.Course Fee NLG 5,350.PROPULSION HYDRODYNAMICS 13 - 16 November 2000 (4 days)This course is a logical continuation of the course Hydrodynamics in Ship Design. Special topics will include novel propulsors, such as podded propeller arrangements, related to interaction with the hull shape, vibrations and noise.Course Fee NLG 5,200.AccommodationHotel accommodation is not included in the course fee. MARIN has made reservations in Hotel De Reehorst in Ede. The special course rate is NLG 120 per night, including breakfast. Transportation will be arranged between the hotel and MARIN.
