    Underwater Intervention 2001

    News // May 22, 2000
Participants in the Underwater Intervention Conference and Exhibition will find Tampa, Florida to be a perfect venue for the show, according to UI Publicity Chairman Howie Doyle.

"Tampa has it all," he stated. "It is centrally located to the eastern seaboard and the Gulf of Mexico, it has a temperate climate, the hotel and convention centre facilities are excellent, and there is a abundance of local entertainment for attendees and their families."

UI 2001 is slated for 15-17 January 2001 at the Tampa Convention Centre.

Underwater Intervention is co-sponsored by the ROV Committee of the Marine Technology Society (MTS/ROV) and the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADC). The organisations are co-sponsoring the event for the ninth consecutive year, and onceagain the organising committee expects growth in the number of exhibits and attendees.

Underwater Intervention has expanded its Web site to include in-depth information and hypertext links to the many convention, business, and entertainment sources necessary to optimise one's stay in Tampa. It is located at: http://www.diveweb.com/ui.

The recently issued Call for Papers has resulted in a strong early response, with topics such as ROV, diver, and submersible operations; submarine cable installation and maintenance; platform, pipeline, and production system installation and maintenance;commercialisation of AUVs, inshore diving and ROV utilisation; contaminated diving; bridge inspections; search and salvage; safety, certification, and insurance; and industry trends being represented.

Authors interested in submitting papers should contact Technical Programme Chairman Howie Doyle at 281-440-0278, fax 281-440-4867, or email a 100-word abstract directly to hdoyle@doylepublishing.com. Deadline for abstracts is September 01 2000.

Underwater Intervention is currently accepting advance registrations. To register, call 800-316-2188, 281-893-8539, or visit the UI web site.
