    Interesting job for Ocean Seal

    Projects and Operations // May 22, 2000
Ocean Seal, the 24,000dwt barge owned by Fukada and operated in Europe by Fukada's agents Fairmount Marine BV in Rotterdam has completed the transportation and re-launch of a 95m super yacht, the Al Mirqab.

The size and weight of the yacht forced the shipyard to find an innovative solution to launch the boat, since launching directly from the yard was not possible. The solution was to 'roll' the yacht onto a standard 300 x 90 ft barge and from this barge onto a larger semi-submersible barge.

Due to the limited waterdepth at the shipyard, it was impossible to load the yacht directly from the quay onto the semi-submersible barge. After loading, the Ocean Seal transported the yacht to a location with sufficient water depth at the Laurenshaven in Rotterdam.
