    Saipem in acquisition mode

    Saipem, part of the giant Eni concern in Italy has splashed out $65 million on the acquisition of Moss Maritime in Norway and Petromarine in Houston in the US.

    Moss Maritime is probably best known for the Moss type LNG gas tanks for LNG carriers, but is also well known for designing and building advanced semi-subs.

    The acquisition reportedly cost Saipem in the order of $55 million, whilst the acquisition of engineering company Petromarine cost it in the order of $10 million.
