    Aker Yards to build ice-breaking supply vessels

    Aker Brattvaag has signed a contract with Swire Pacific Offshore, Singapore for three icebreaking supply vessels, which will be built by Aker Langsten.

    The contract is worth approximately NKr 1.5 billion, and the vessels are scheduled for delivery in April, July and October 2006.

    The vessels are of the UT 758 Ice design developed by Rolls-Royce, which will also be a major supplier of equipment to the project.

    The vessels are large PSVs, and will also be equipped for stand by operations.
