Survey and positioning services from Andrews Projects and Operations

Andrews Survey of Aberdeen in Scotland reports that it has successfully provided offshore survey and positioning services in support of a series of post-lay inspection and burial projects (PLIBs).
The projects over cable routes in the North Sea and Atlantic were for ROV operators working on behalf of major cable contractors. Two of the operators, Sonsub International Ltd, and Rovtech Ltd, provided ROVs and trenching vehicles, whilst Andrews engineers were responsible for surface and sub-sea positioning, survey support, and production of pre- and post-burial charts.
The cable and pipeline crossing operations were carried out in both deep and shallow areas with water depths ranging from 15-600 metres. Andrews provided survey personnel, data acquisition, processing, and charting over 17-vessel-month period.
