    Standby vessel market remains firm

    Offshore Shipbrokers in Aberdeen reports that the standby vessel market in the North Sea remains firm with few boats available - rates of 4,000 plus are now regularly being paid.

    Recent fixtures include Agip Glomar, Grand Banks Grampian Guardian, one well N/R; Amerada Hess, Maersk Jutlander, Scott Protector, one well N/R; EDC, Monarch Pearl, one well N/R; Talisman, Flotta Catchment Area, Normand Skipper/ScottProspector/Aberdonian, two years N/R.

    Outstanding requirements include Phillips UK, one well, August; and Texaco, Ton Van Langeveld, one well, September.
