Terra Nova FPSO close to completion

    News // July 13, 2001
The Terra Nova Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessel for Petro-Canada's Terra Nova field is approaching completion.

A spokesperson for the Terra Nova project said that as of early July the hook-up of the FPSO modules was approximately 98 per cent complete and commissioning was also 98 per cent complete.

Operational readiness is 80 per cent complete, and the FPSO should depart the quayside later this summer.

Currently, the FPSO is at the quayside at Bull Arm, the topsides having been lifted aboard.

The turret commissioning team successfully rotated the first full rotation of the turret on 25 May. Most of the main systems such as the thrusters and Firewater System have gone live and inspections have been carried out. In all, only 50,000 constructionhours are remaining.
