Shuttles to feature in Transpetro's newbuild plans

    News // July 13, 2001
At least two shuttle tankers are thought to feature in Transpetro's wide-ranging fleet renewal programme.

The Petrobras subsidiary says it plans to acquire more than 20 newbuilds over the next 5-10 years, and says it hopes many of them will be built at Brazilian yards.

Suezmax and Panamax tankers are expected to form the majority of the newbuilds, but a pair of as yet unspecified vessels are believed to have been acquired ready for conversion to shuttle tankers in due course.
