    SMD awarded contract for MD3 cable plow

    Soil Machine Dynamics Ltd in the UK has been awarded a contract for a turnkey cable burial system by Smit-Oceaneering Cable Systems LLC of Houston, Texas. The cable burial system includes SMD's latest generation of MD3 cable plow, which is to be suppliedfully equipped and capable of 80 tonnes bollard pull with supporting control system.

    The plow is designed to work in passive and jetting modes in deep water and includes buoyant passive umbilical and jetting umbilical systems. It will be handled and towed from SMD's two-cylinder, wide-angle, A-frame and high capacity towing winch.
