    Halliburton prepares for YME abandonment

    News // June 1, 2001
Quest Offshore reports that Toisa Perseus is expected to mobilise in August 2001 for Statoil's YME field decommissioning.

Toisa Perseus will retrieve subsea equipment used for the development of the YME Beta satellite in August and September.

A remotely operated tool will be used to cut the ends of pipelines and umbilicals, the main lengths of which are buried and expected to be left in place.

The vessel will lift two subsea templates and protection structures, and two protection structures used to protect parts of the production pipeline left exposed on the seabed.

Some 26 concrete mattresses are also due to be removed, says Quest.
