S&P activity remains at low level

    News // May 4, 2001
There has been relatively little S&P activity in the last 3-4 weeks.

Offshore Shipbrokers in Aberdeen reports that the problem is that there is no modern tonnage being seriously circulated.

There are, however, a large number of older ships available, including 1980sbuilt vessels, but not at the levels that are attracting buyers.

In recent weeks Candies has ordered three PSVs with DP2 from Bender Shipbuilding, and the AHTS Triumph Sea (built 1979, 7,100bhp) has been purchased by Nomis Shipping on private terms. Offshore Shipbrokers says it believes the price to be in the region of $3,500,000.
