Sales and purchase in North Sea

Contracts, Tenders and Rates // April 5, 2001
Having sold the Stirling Fyne to Gulf Offshore, Stirling caught the market bysurprise when the entire company was sold a few days later to Seacor in a deal valuing the company at about £90 million.

This leaves the UK without a major home-based supply vessel owner. There are smaller players but all the majors with offices here have overseas head offices.

Who will be next, one wonders?

Aberdeen Offshore Shipbrokers reports that, subject to board approval and authority to transfer the current contract with Norske Hydro, Smedvig has agreed to sell the West Delta to Odfjell for $110 million.

PSV Stirling Fyne (built 1982 - 4,800bhp) has been purchased by Gulf North Sea for a price in the region of £4.5 million.

The vessel will be renamed Highland Patriot and has already been fixed toMaersk Oil & Gas for one year plus options.

The AHTS Asso Dodici (built 1975 - 9,700bhp) has been sold to Middle East buyers for a price in the region of $1.4 million, reports Offshore Shipbrokers.
