    Amec wins Shell FPSO work

    Vessel & ROV News // March 23, 2001
The Amec yard on the Tyne in the UK has been awarded a contract to build the topsides for Shell's Bonga Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) platform.

The 300,000dwt Bonga FPSO is being built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.

Once the topsides have been built and installed by Amec, the FPSO will be committed to the Bonga field offshore Nigeria.

Another beneficiary of the Shell order is the Heerema yard at nearby Hartlepool, which will build modules for the vessel.
