    Contracts, Tenders and Rates // December 15, 2000
    Offshore Shipbrokers Limited reports that continued fixing had pushed rates up further by the end of the second week of December - some well in excess of 20,000, and says outstanding requirements were expected to keeping rates up, with some charterers are struggling to find suitable tonnage.

    The company says Northern Comrade was fixed to Statoil at an undisclosed rate, which it believes was in the region of 25,000. However, the fixture was subject to Team releasing the vessel in time.

    At the time of writing, the market looked set to remain tight as the Norwegian majors were likely to be busy as well as UK charterers.
