    ShipyardXchange pilot project completed

    News // January 18, 2002
The originators of the ShipyardXchange pilot project have announced that the pilot project has been successfully completed and transitioned to normal operation mode on 02 January.

With five yards and more than 120 suppliers actively participating in the pilot, has been proven to work as originally intended.

ShipyardXchange says it is "very satisfied" with the portal's overall performance in supporting the complex processes of requesting and quoting for sophisticated products and systems in the shipbuilding industry. During the last few weeks alone, more than 200 requests for quotation (RFQs) have been distributed through ShipyardXchange.

In addition to the yards that participated in the pilot project - Aukra Industrier, Langsten Slip & Båtbyggeri, Brattvaag Skipsverft, Aker MTW and Estaleiro Promar (observer) - three additional yards within the Aker group will start using ShipyardXchangeas their procurement vehicle for strategic goods. The yards in question are Aker Finnyards, Aker Brevik, and Søviknes Verft.
