KFELS wins more conversion work from Diamond Offshore

    Yard News // November 30, 2001
Keppel FELS (KFELS) shipyard in Singapore says it has won contracts worth $77 million from Diamond Offshore Drilling to upgrade two of its assets - the semi-sub Ocean Rover and the jack-up Ocean Tower.

The latest orders follow hard on the heels of a contract awarded to the yard to upgrade a quartet of jack-up rigs for Diamond Offshore earlier this year.

KFELS says the work on the Ocean Rover will take around 18 months to complete and will take place at its yard in Brownsville, Texas.

The jack-up will be modified by AMFELS, who will convert it into a cantilever-type rig.
