Vopak ENOC Fujairah awards SPM contract

    News // November 2, 2001
Vopak ENOC Fujairah Ltd has awarded Bluewater Energy Services BV and Van Oord ACZ BV a contract for the design, supply and installation of a Single Point Mooring (SPM) system and related pipelines at the Vopak ENOC Fujairah terminal in the United Arab Emirates. The deal calls for Bluewater to provide and install a complete SPM system in about 25m of water at a site 3km offshore UAE and near the port of Fujairah, including the square turret catenary anchor leg mooring (CALM) buoy, the pipeline end manifold, submarine and floating hoses, and twin 24-inch onshore-offshore pipelines.

The project will increase the number of tanker berths from two to three at the terminal and enable the facility to load and offload tankers up to 175,000dwt.

Bluewater's consortium partner Van Oord ACZ is to design and install the pipelines, install the CALM buoy and tie in the new facilities to the terminal's onshore manifold by August 2002.
