    Snøhvit "on hold"

    Projects and Operations // October 4, 2001
The partners in the Snøhvit project in the Barents Sea have decided not to submit a plan for development and operation (PDO) of the field at this time.

The project was re-activated at the beginning of 1997 to mature an overall development of resources in the Snøhvit, Askeladd and Albatross fields with associated infrastructure.

The partners in the project intended to submit a PDO to Norway's Ministry of Petroleum and Energy by the summer of 2001 has been the aim of the partners.

The extensive project involves development of the three fields, a pipeline to land, receiving facilities and a liquefaction plant to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG).
