    Siemens awards CBM contract to Bluewater and Van Oord ACZ

    Bluewater Energy Services BV and Van Oord ACZ have been awarded a contract for the supply and installation of a Conventional Buoy Mooring (CBM) system and pipeline for the Shuweihat Power & Desalination Plant.

    The system will be installed off the coast of Jebel Dhana, United Arab Emirates.

    Bluewater will design and supply the mooring system, pipeline end manifold (PLEM) and related components as consortium leader. Bluewater's consortium partner Van Oord ACZ will design and install the pipeline, and will be responsible for installation ofthe CBM.

    The offloading system will be used as a back-up system to provide the Shuweihat Power & Desalination Plant with diesel fuel oil via tankers.

    Bluewater has already performed survey and pre-engineering work for Siemens under a separate contract. Installation of the CBM system is expected by June 2003.
